Dr. Frost has extensive experience treating children of all ages. He has done extractions, baby root canals, crowns, fillings, space maintainers, etc. He sees and takes care of most children but there are certain cases that he will refer to a pediatric dentist. Ninety percent of fillings on children are actually completed with just a little “numbing jelly” rubbed on their gums.
The children don’t feel anything and they avoid an injection. It’s a win-win. Factors such as age, demeanor, anxiety, treatment needed, parent input, and other factors play into that decision. The key to working with children is to make it a positive experience. Dr. Frost doesn’t want any of the children he treats to have dental phobia because of a treatment he did.
